Photographer’s Note
One of the conditions of using this house for fire brigade training was that, when we finished doing what we wanted with it, we let it burn. After all, the idea of burning it was to get rid of it as it was derelict and needed to be removed. This was the end for it as the last part standing was consumed by the flames and was about to fall. It’s almost sad to think of an old building that’s seen so much history and had so many different people grow up and live beneath its roof, finally come to an end. Unfortunately, it had no historical significance and was in an advanced state of decay so saving it wasn’t a realistic option.
This pic has been cropped and the brightness and contrast have been manipulated in an effort to counteract the fading light of the evening. Finally, it was sharpened during the downsizing process.
Kind regards to all,
Tony

Very good pic!!! You've nice captured the fire! I feel hot!:-)
Also the story is very good and informative! I know what I see! That's the difference between trekearth and other photosites; the pictures have story, they aren't just nude on the desktop!!!

Great pic Tony! I love the cropping and colours. The detail of the inside of the building is also captivating. It's such a dramatic image, but the title doesn't do it justice. I think you could make this image more dramatic by changing the title to something like "Consumed"(?). Anyway, well done! Keep snapping! :)

Hi Tony
Very impressive capture. The fire is quite amazing and the details are excellent. Nice contrasts between the yellow flames and the grass. I like your tight crop.
