Chill Out Cafe Page 11. From scratch
There is something exceptionally beautiful in the city of Warsaw. Imagine a city which has been re-built from scratch some 50-60 years ago after being completely destroyed during WWII. Imagine that its charm, its "flavor" being restored and now in many many places resembling the Warsaw of 1930s.
But in the same time the city is becoming a local business center. Fast expansion of high rise buildings, new bridges, new airport terminals, new road system.
But I think all this expansion will not be able o kill the charm of the old places, proudly defeating Warsaw's history.
PS. I am glad that next week I'll be able to show round the place to one of our TE-friends.

Jurek, podoba mi sie ta ekspansja nieba i to ze jest bezchmurne. Smugi mgly pomiedzy drzewami i iglica Palacu Kultury czynia charakter. Odwazne.

It's like those skies are waiting for something (or someone) to arrive!!
Already I recognise one building here - the gift of education and culture from those nice soviet friends.
I like this image and what it is saying and how it is said - I often stand in city streets and imagine the landscape before they were there.
The context of an image is what frequently lands it in a photography museum - so out of this early morning mist miraculously there rises a charmed city - a city with such a history and a friend with camera waiting!
a bientot! kev

Witaj Jurku!
Bardzo oryginlne podejście!
Niby panoramka, a jednak nie...
Rewelacyjne smugi mgieł - nie wiedziałam, że nawet w centrum Warszawy takie zjawiskowe smaczki natury się pojawiają ...
Pozdrawiam serdecznie!

Hello Jerzy!
As usual you have really thought things through and this is no exception. Your "tabula rasa" POV
entirely supports your thesis and title and vice versa.
ANother example of how architecture, town planning, design etc. are not just theries or bjects to yu, but living things.
Great t be back my friend...
Cheers,
Francis

Witaj,
ciekawy kadr, chyba coś nowego u Ciebie. Ostatnio podobny widziałem u Bertranda. Fajna ta smuga mgiełki, zderzenie natury i cywilizacji w B&W.
W Nowym Roku życzę realizacji zamierzeń i pięknych podróży z aparatem w ręku.

Czesc Jerzy. Super bardzo dobra ("super" is one of my favorite Polish words :)). I have no idea where you took this from but it is great, especiall in b/w and and with this mist. I understand what you are saying about Warsaw. I really like Warsaw, regardless if i was having an espresso in the center or just wandering around Mokotov, always pleasant trips to the big city. Maybe because I like the diversity of it, it is a real city, with all kinds of people... Turks working in the Kebab shops (unlike in Krakow, such little diversity), Africans walking hand and hand with a Poles... it is something i like about urban life vs. provincial life... there is more acceptance, more tolerance.
Anyways, great that you can see the Palace of Science and Culture... such a strange name, combining science and culture... sometimes, the two don't really mix. Well, I am sure you will show Kev what Warszawa is all about and I look forward to seeing the product of such a hunting mission.

Hello Jerzy, happy new year! A lovely composition to go with your interesting note, I love the way you gave such expanse to the sky above Warsawa, and the way you write so intimately about it. I know who is the lucky one to stroll with you next week, I am sure it is going to be great and thoroughly enjoyable!
All the best for 2006 with many great shots continuing!

Interesting setting for the Warshaw skyline as presented here. The low placment of the horizon and the bw setting seems a good setting, still I guess a little more of the foreground included had also worked.

Jakbys mial ochote, daj znac. Mam tez znajomych wstepnie zainteresowanych dosc extremalnym programem Niger-Czad

Excellent dof and B&W choice. It was a risky one, but it works...
The mist is excellent and makes your compo original.
Well composed and inspired.
