Photographer’s Note
I love to take pictures of contrasts, such as shadows and light. I wanted to take the picture of this door in the Mosque and was waiting for the couple to leave. As they decided to stay for a while, I had to take it with them in the front. But now, I'm glad they didn't move; I think they make the picture more interesting.
When I visited Morocco, I wasn't really that interested in visiting the Mosque of Hassan II, because it was a rather new structure (built about 10 years ago). I was travelling with a group and only two of us decided to enter the mosque. It's quite impressive, combining the classical details and modern technology. For example, it has a roof that can be opened in summer if it's too hot and it has a floor that can be heated if it's too cold. It can welcome as much as 25,000 people.

Hi Yvonne
Yes I like it... Interesting the way the symmetry is broken by those two figures. And I also like your idea of taking part reflection in - it gives an interesting perspective to it.

Paco.

I think the symmetry is wonderful, together with your light and dark contrasts. The best part, in my opinion, is that human presence, small and obscure and humbling, in the doorway. I really like how their heads are bent together too. It's a great idea, this photo, and well done.

Hi Ivonne. Great shot! Simple in it's form, mysterious in it's essence. Perfect composition.

Hi Yvonne.
Lovely picture. The simetry, only broken by the people, is wonderfull. The reflections are also good.
Nice job!

I also love photos with sharp contrasts, and photos of arches tickle my fancy as well so this one grabbed me. My onlt complaint is the reflection being cut off - and I wonder if it would be better without the two circles at the top, to bring the focus more to the shadows.
The Mosque is beautiful - easily one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen - but I didn't like the fact that we couldn't wander around by ourselves - at the time, we were forced to join a group marching around the building at breakneck speed, preventing us from having the luxury of capturing shots like this. TFS!

Yvonne, j'aime cette photo en contre-jour avec un belle lumière dûe aux vitraux et ce couple vient heureusement rompre la monotonie de la symétrie. Beau travail !

This is wonderful. Just wonderful.
Love the composition, the symmetry, the reflections, the patterns and the couple showing us the scale. Well done.

Wonderful graphical photo! The two people look great! Perhaps it would have been even greater had we seen the full reflection of them, but maybe you did not have a wide enough view to cover the whole whole arch then.
Excellent photo Yvonne!

Wow, it's so mystical. And the people: as if they're doing something secret. :)
