Photographer’s Note

This is a photo taken from a plane before landing on the tiny Bird Island. It's a coral island 96km by air north of the main island Mahé, and is only about 2km long and 1 km wide. Worldfamous as a breeding ground for millions of sooty terns that arrive to the island in May and stay until October. They lay their eggs on the ground in the grassy area seen down to the right in the photo. Other birds that breed in the trees are Fairy and Noddy terns.
I had to do some work with Photoshop, more green was added and the colours were saturated and given more contrast and finally sharpened.
