Photographer’s Note

Another fresh place from Brittany called Kerlouan on the northern-west coast of Brittany. It's a place I already presented you.

I like very much that place in winter especially under that kind of light splashing through the large clouds. I find the rocks and the land very attractive.

I tried to present the same kind of mood as in that picture taken not too far in the south of Kerlouan.

I guess I wish I could spend some weeks over walking along the sea like I used to do it before I knew photography. There are so many beautiful spots in that province where I've been living during almost 20 years. ..

A wonderfully atmospheric photo. I like the way you have caught the late afternoon light coming in at such a low angle, it really adds great contrast and tones to the colours. The sky is fantastic, with the colours mirrored in the sea, these elements then contrast with the buildings and the rocks. A fantastic composition. A big 'well done' on this one.

Salut,
this is exactly how I imaging Brittany coast to be, it's very beautiful and rugged. Fantastic image, very moody with good colours and contrast, the clouds really add interest.

Stunning light in this capture, Steven - it almost seems more painting than photo. I like everything about it except the lighting on the side of the building seems a bit hot. It's an immediate favorite nevertheless.

Fantastic shot! I like the vivid colours, and deep saturated, high contrast look. This makes the scene really jump out of the frame at the viewer. Having great light and a dark sky behind, which gives this a very dramatic look. Great work!

Cette photi est très réussi, le contarste entre les nuages sombre et la lumière qui illumine toute l'image est saisissant. Cela donne beaucoup de profondeurs aux couleurs. De plus, la composition est tès bonne, laissant un place à chacun des différnets élements. Bravo

ha oui la bretagne telle qu'on l'aime avec ces nuages , ces ciels plombés mais qui se dégagent si vite apres la bruine du matin, cette lumière unique aussi... C'est tres beau!

Désolé mais le Phare se trouve sur la commune de Brignogan-plage et non sur la commune de Kerlouan.
Superbe photo. Belle composition, très contrastée par cette belle lumière hivernale.

Voilà une photo très réussie, avec une belle compo. Mais ce qui lui donne son charme, c'est cette lumièrer rasante, assortie d'un ciel gris menaçant.
Rien à dire, sauf que c'est très bien fait.

A very beautiful shot Stephen - great contrast colour and atmosphere - great classic composition - I just love these dark brroding skies but with the lightn of the sun coming through - it just has all the richness of the colour , light and skies of Brittany which i remember so well from the 70's.

Superbe image, très contrastée et composée de superbes couleurs. La lumière ambiante était au rendez-vous et tu as très bien su en tirer profit. si je devais faire une remarque, ce serait sur les murs blancs de l'église, légèrement surexposée mais c'est un détail.

I know this place very well from many weeks of holiday we spend there over the years. Is it possible that your family owns a maison de vacances at Menezham?
When I read your intro I remembered the furniture and little details in that house behind the dune - for sure Afrika was the second home of the owners.
POV and catch of light in your post are second to none.

J'aime ce regard de photographe pour dénicher ce phare sous un éclairage rasant avec un ciel d'orage. La composition est telle que le regard part de la gauche et vient buter sur le phare; Surement une photo pré-visualisée et en attente de l'éclairage!
