[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Taken somewhere on the Savannah way between Burketown and Hells Gate.

I was travelling just at the begining of the wet season so the roads were getting quite muddy. This isn't really the best time to be driving around the outback but thankfully I made it to civilisation alive. Further up the track the road was getting very muddy and broken up - A 4x4 was essential. The Toyota Landcruiser coped with it OK but I'm not an experienced outback adventurer so it was getting a little worrying at times. I'm glad I had the duel Diesel tanks + 80 litres drinking water, 25 litre jerry of diesel and 2 spare tyres though.

Hi John
i like your photo A good shot Best Wishes

Dear John,
I enjoy your picture for different reasons. First of all, colours and contrast between sand on sky is really beautifull. Your image is very clean. But the window isn't ;-) And that's also something I like, it adds to your composition. Well done.
TFS, regards
Fabien

Great picture John. The road heading off dead straight ahead really gives a sense of space, and isolation! I love the overall composition and the strong colours.

Hi John
Though the note seems as if you were traveling alone this picture was taken by you in the codrivers seat.....:-)
A great shot....and the bit about the two spares and the extra diesel is so familiar to all off roaders..:-) However no mention of tow strap and winch means this was not a really serious drive in the outback ???

One day I plan to get he wipers to clean the bull dust as i drive past Ayers Rock! Cheers

This road looks infinite, intense colors, nice red / green / blue harmony. This must be a beautiful place to learn about nature.

Although it's quite interesting to see the windshield as it gives the picture a character of driving through the Savannah, I might have liked the variant without the windshield more. I personally think the windshield takes too much space.

Otherwise, great shot.

hi John
I like the colors, and perspectives. great lines, this hat his funny in the foreground.
Very good job sincery

The colors are so vivid- it looks like a wonderful place- very flat, but beautiful. I like the story the windshield & dash give to the photo, but I hope you took some from outside your car too. Great work- I'm glad you made it out alive.

Rosie

Very good shot. I like the mud-streaked windshield, showing evidence of a previously not-so-clean road. The hat distracts, however. The colors are vivid and crisp, and urge the viewer to the horizon. TFS!

Very effective shot, could see this in a "Rough Guide" travel brochure!

great shot, captures the outback feel very well. good framing and the dirty windscreen and the cap fit in very well.

witaj John;)))
hi ¶wietna pe³na rado¶ci i ¿ycia fotografia, fajne spojrzenie na drogê przed siebie, chyba ka¿dy z nas chcia³by siê kiedy¶ udaæ w tak± podró¿, wspaniale fotka oddaje klimat, piêkne kolorki, bravo;))

I think the hat helps offset the windshield and dashboard a little bit; without it, there would be too much dark framing to the bottom left of the photo. Those tracks just pull me into the picture.

Hi John,

i enjoy views seen from car windows perspective very much...your image is no exception here...muddy windscreen, baseball cap, dusty dirt road...some scattered trees around the even horizon...all combined with lively colours...excellent shot...cheers, arturo

Hey John, What were you complaining about? Looks like the highway was in near pristine condition! Still, I'm glad you went prepared and presumably didn't pick up any hitchhikers, since you got back alive (sorry, very bad joke). As to the photo, I actually like the spray on the window in particular and the way it contrasts with the blue sky - very evocative. As is the cap - a travellers badge (and of course sun-smart!)Cheers Paul.

lovely picture.. a different pov. nice contrast and colors. beautiful

Hi John
I caught this on the intro page and had to stop and look closer. I love the typical outback scenery with a red road that goes on forever, the floating clouds in a blue blue sky and the dry vegetation. Including the interior of the vehicule goes well with your note. The cap is a fun addition. Glad you made it safely.
Regards
Nikki
