A Royal privileged Inn Photo

Photographer’s Note

Inn = Kro in Danish.

Nowadays will a journey through Denmark by car take you less then 8 hours – But for 200 years ago would the same journey have taken two days or more with a horse drawn diligence

Hence there was a need for places where travellers could rest and eat. Many Inn’s was founded from 1700 to 1900 and most of them got the special privilege from the King – this also true for the Inn in the village Vester Skerninge at the southern of Fyn
.
This a special place, because not only the Inn preserved in the same condition as it was build for over 250 years ago – there’s also a group of similar houses around it, which gives a pretty good idea how people lived at that time.

The inside of the Inn and its kitchen newly been rebuild in the old style and it’s surely a place to visit, for a good meal.

Bonjour Jeppe,
un vrai paysage de conte de fée, quelle pureté, rarment vu d'aussi belle restitution de ce genre de petite maison sous la nuit.
Un vrai bonheur que de s'arrêter la-bas.

Hi Jeppe,
I switched a few times between your 2 uploads. It's a pity that in the WS the light in front of the entrance is a little overexposed. There is such a great typical winter atmosphere in that picture. In this picture the blue in the sky is very special but it misses in my opinion that special winter effect I love so much.

Hi Jeppe, You have well caught the beautiful “blue sky” timing for this evening shot. Nice outline and beautiful contrast of the houses against the sky. Good capture of the characteristic of the old style houses partially covered by the snow. A well composed and well taken picture.

Rigtig flot nattebillede af sådan noget typisk dansk noget som en 'kro' er. Lyset er meget fint og varmt og jeg kan også godt lide vintersynet i WS'en. Tak for det!

A well composed night shot of this charming place. Your exposure level seems just right, as we are able to appreciate all the fine details of the building and also the texture of the roadway. I like the warm glow of light in the windows. Well seen and captured, Jeppe. Regards.

Hi Jeppe. A well-exposed evening photo of the beautiful old half-timbered inn. Nice atmosphere with the lights, and a good seasonal touch provided by the Christmas lights around the entrance, making it look even more inviting to enter. The wider-angle version in the WS with the tracks on the snow is pretty nice, too.

This is wonderful - what a warm glow and atmosphere captured! How nice it would be to come across this scene after travelling for a while and step inside to a roaring fire and hot food I am sure! You've captured the lights well here, though as 'dizzy' commented a bit bright around the doors. And I definitely prefer this version over the workshop - so much warmer and great colour tones between the sky and lights in the windows. So nice that you had the added effect of the snow! Great note too, thanks!

Hello Jeppe,

I also scanned your pictures and found this striking one, first reaction is " I wish I had taken it " which means that I think it is a splendid one. Nice framing, nice hour of the day, and what I like best in this kind is matching the orange with the blue, which I think is one of the best matches in color.
