Ice sculpture

I return to my postings of Slovenian nature with this shot.
This was taken on an above zero degrees day, on the small river Kokra before it runs into the Preddvor lake between Jezersko and Kranj, so there is a new entry in the Gorenjska section, Preddvor. In what is normally a high contrast,almost B/W picture there is a touch of blue reflection from the clear sky. I liked it, I hope you like it.

its perfect...and the lighting is low enough to retain the snow/ice texture and sub tone
the blue...could be cloned out...it is in a corner and not central to your focal subject...

agree with you not many colors in that one, just the pleasant refreshing power of the ice, something to look at again in august ! The small color touch is a nice addition but I think I prefer the water movement and some of it just got a small light ray to outline itself, this I like !

Hi Aleksandar,
I was wondering about that blue patch! Your note explain it, thanks! I like the combination of the two different states of the water, the running one and the frozen one. I also like how the light come and alight the ice, very nice. Very good framing, tight and close to your subject. It is a very beautiful capture!

Lepo si ujel kompozicijo ledenih sveč.Všeč mi je,ker so v plasteh zelo na gosto.Malo me moti tisti modri flek in bi se kar strinjal z pixelterorjem,da je to odboj žarka od leče.

Gorgeous ice sculpture. The texture and definition are very good. Great macro with a lot of details. The contrast against the dark background highlights perfectly the ice. Well done. Best regards, Gabriel.

One of those marvellous and mysterious creations of nature - I love the intimacy and sensuality of this shot - nicely taken - not just an image but a sensory treat for the way it invokes a stronger experience than the visual alone.

Vozbudliv zimski detal. Na fotkata nema drugo osven voda, no interesno e kako prirodata ja oformuva po sopstvena zelba.
Ponekogas mi nedostasuva vistinska zima vo Skopje.

I like very much this view. Great lighting management with ice. For me the problem is wthis the border frame The gey tone is not the same as the grey in the photo ...
