Photographer’s Note
Taken on the 1st day of 2006. The weather had been sunny but as we neared the coast it began to cloud over. After reaching this cove, I made my way out as far as I could on a rock ledge stretching out to sea. I was out quite far, but not so far as to get myself wet, or worse put myself in danger. As I knelt down and was setting up my filters on my camera, I heard an almightly crack and looked behind me to see a wave crashing down. I instinctively stuffed my camera into my backpack and pulled the top down as the wave splashed over us. No damage at all luckily, just a wet bag, tripod and me. But I decided not to take my chances and retreated back to this spot for a more relaxed shot!

A very dramtic shot, the colours, POV and sharpness all add to that feeling of an impending storm - excellent :)

Hi Adam,
This is an amazing photo of a beautiful scene. I love the rocks in the foreground leading the viewers eye over the ocean and beyond. The cloud cover and its colors is amazing with a dramatic feeling to it. Lucky you didn't damage your camera and yourself! Great composition and dramatic looking. Excellent work!
Greetings,
Ann

Good PoV and format, not only resulting in a good compo, but one that highlights the geological link between the island and the strata on the mainland, something here for a textbook that wants that extra artistic flare.

Great composition : perfect proportions of the rocks in the foreground, beautifull cloudy sky and impressive colors.
Very well done,

Hello Adam
I do not know what to say; all your pictures with that particular landscape are so damn good, especially the DOF.
Wow and wow again.
I will come and see your pictures again and instead of writing the same and the same again I just will write "pro or fav".
So here we have a clear: PRO
Cheers mate

Great shot! The rocks form and interesting pattern, which to me looks like frozen waves. The pools in the rocks are a nice touch, and the sky adds a sense of drama. Glad to hear that the 5D is okay (and you as well!). In one of my recent posts someone commented that I was too far from the water, but this is the kind of thing I was afraid of. Great work and a great story too.

Hello Adam,
What a great image... Detail, action, color and lighting are all magnificent. a moody image, however, I don't know what mood it best fits into.
Well done... and great note.

Hello Adam
Great and atmospheric photo. It doesn't care that there is no sunshine, because now the photo is much more dramatic. Dark and heavy clouds with in the front those sharp and rough stones.
Very well done!
(I Like your photos very much, keep sharing)

Another great shot from that location. I'm not sure which one I like best, this here or that one. This here I like because of the warm sky color, the other one had a better foreground (IMHO). But that's comparing best to bester ;-)
