Hi Mario,
Quality of this photo is nothing short of superb. Excellent composition. I really like POV, as well as DOF. And of course, colors are spectacular. Blue palm top stands out nicely against dark blue sky.

An interesting perspective you chose here Mario. Typically folk want to show the overhang, but you've broke the paradigm. I like this and think the beautiful colors are very inviting.

This is the best colour for a southern island beach.
I really like this saturation with great composition, Mario.

Bonjour Mario
Cela donne envie de vacances. Excellent pdv car on a l'habitude voir ces cocotiers plutôt de côté. Sympa l'ombre. J'adore la couleur de l'eau et le ciel.

OK - this is a stereotype - but a excellent one. I like the good timing with the wave splashing and the visible shadow. of the palm tree. Great job. TFS Thomas

I NEED TO GO THERE! That's a great image - and it makes me upset that I'm here in the Rainy Pacific Northwest! Oh well. You did a fantastic job metering. And the circular polarizer was clutch! Perfect, thanks for sharing,

WOw! Spectacular! Never thought I'd say that about a picture of a palm tree but this is a, as Henryk said,"Fantastic point of view!" My only criticism is that you could have reduced the harsh polarizer a bit just to get a nicer blue in the top part of your photo. But overall, this is a great composition! You've even got a little wave splash action which really adds to your picture. Good job! This place reminds me of a beach in La Semana. I just love the D.R. I need to get myself a wide angle lens, pronto! - Mike O.

Hi again Mario, this is an absolutely cracking photo. Not only have you used the trunk to lead the eye into the photo, but you have used the shadow of the tree as an essential compositional element. The saturation is just perfect. I stayed at the Ocean Bavaro last summer (shortly before I rediscovered photography) and the photo captures the beauty of the area very well. Stephen

Hi.
Beautiful picture.
Great POV. Looks like a dancing Hawaiian girl - she's swinging. Palm branches are the feathers on her head, then goes the silhouette and the roots are her skirt on her hips :-) Just a thought. There's another image I see in your photo - as it is from the back it reminds me of an ostrich - the trunk is a long neck and the roots are its body :-)
TFS this beautiful world.
Best regards,
Luiza

Salut Mario,

I wouldn't usually critique a photo that's received as many critiques as this one because normally, everything has already been said.
However, I can't help myself with this one. I've got a real soft spot for shots like this and this is just such a wonderful photo.
I love the deeply polarised sky, the wonderful, snaking shape of the tree and the inclusion of the shadow underneath. It's crisp and sharp and it just exudes warmth. I feel like if I look at it long enough, I'll get a decent suntan!
Really fantastic.
