Photographer’s Note

Finally, at long last, a bit of sun again. Just one brief hour of sunshine yesterday afternoon, but enough for this mallard lady to look her best for a wee while. The photo shows clearly the excellent water-repelling properties of a duck's feathers; water spray or drops don't soak the feathers, they just lie on top of them until they roll back off again.
Treatment: Crop, Contrast +10, Brightness +5, Saturation +10, USM and resize.

Belle photo bien nette. Nous pouvons même voir les gouttes d'eau sur les plumes du canard.

The light and the colours are beautiful, the image is net, small drops on feathers are visible. I like very much your photo.

The lighting really is superb here. It has really helped to bring out all the detail in the feathers and given a great reflection at the same time. Everything is also beautifully sharp.

Nice golden duck on a very blue water, I like it. I presume that focus was taken on the back of the duck since the droplets are so sharp. It makes the head a little soft but still OK. Well done.

Beautifully taken colours spot on , sharpness also really good, even a natural high-light in the eye, the reflections add a finishing touch a picture worthy of PM. well done.

Your bird shots are just great Bente. The duck is so sharp and full of details, a very good capture. Together with the little movement in the water and the reflection. This is really a pleasure to study ;-)

The light on the duck is powerful, it makes teh colors and details stand out. The water pearling on the feathers is awesome and so is the reflection. Well seen, well commented as usual.

What a beautifull litle madame you have here Bente. The light is wonderfull, especially that falling on her face. It is photo's like this that makes me want to go out with my camera and photograph Mallards. I think i might just do that in the week end.
