Golden Forest Photo

Photographer’s Note

On the 22. of December I went out with my sister and my brother together with some friends. We were going into to forest for find and get us a Christmas tree. At this part of Tynset it was only -15°C, and the sun just came over the horizon and make a golden cover of the forest.

In my family it has always been a tradition for picking our own Christmas tree in the forest of a friend of us. Last year we did as most Norwegian, we bought one, but me and my siblings didn't like that, so this year we deside that we would take care of that part. And we did found one.

I love the gold coming through the snow. Such a beautiful capture of colour where there often is none. It looks very warm for -15°C. I wish the picture were larger.

Very interesting luminosity Eiliv. The exposition could have created dark silouette of branches and trees, but you succeed to get all the details. Well done!

The kind of light we find here makes me think of light coming through stained glass. If only the image was bigger it would be even more fantastic.

Wonderful shot. It seems like that it burns the snowy trees. Exellent shade of the strong sunlight makes the pic very attractive. The composition its good too. Perfect.

THE PERFECT SHOT!By the light coming from the sun no one would tell the temperature was -15ºC!But then we see the frozen trees and realize that the sun is only passing by with no interest in warming people!The light you got is magnific!

Great colors and details. The photo is a bit confusing at first because of the many details, but the colors keep us looking at it.

This is pretty unique Eiliv. The golden halo and the light coming from it somehow makes the snow covered branches looked "sculpted".Don't forget to go again this Christmas Eiliv.

Living here in Singapore, I really do miss being around the seasons- especially winter.

The snow covered trees are beautiful enough, the sun coming through them- is icing on the cake.

What a magnificent shot!
The way we are led into it, the colours, the snow stuck on the trees as if hiding from the sun, everything. It's simply a magnificent shot. Woah.

I must say that I find this photo to be like true magic to me. Being the right season this one really puts me in the right mood.
It is just the sheer combination of elements that make this photo great. The simple use of the trees in the forest. the white snow against the dark tree trunks and the glimmer of light that just happens to get past everything and into the middle of the interest point for any viewer.
Pure magic, christmas magic!
