Photographer’s Note
This was taken during my local fireworks display in Knutsford on Guy Fawkes Night(well actually it was on November the 8th and not the 5th as it should really be).
I cropped in a bit to focus on the two fireworks in the centre of the picture, I liked them because one had wavy lines, the other quite straight. I couldn't decide whether to crop in more, but I quite liked the purple streaks at the top, so I didn't in the end.
This was a hand-held shot, I held my camera at waist height and just fired off shots throughout the display, this is one without too much blurring from camera movement.
Guy Fawkes night is celebrated on November the 5th every year to remember the Gunpowder Plot - a failed attempt by Guy Fawkes and others to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1604. Bonfires and fireworks displays take place all over the country, and traditionally an effigy of Guy Fawkes is burnt on top of the bonfire.

Nice pic Mike for a two-second hand-held shot ! Suggestive of some exotic flowers with palms swaying in the breeze and seeds strewn on the ground.

Cool fireworks looking photo. It looks as though you were hand holding it instead of a tripod. You'll have to give me some pointers on how to take some nice shots before July 4th!
