Photographer’s Note

For this photo, I was trying to capture the beautiful saris of women coming out of the Taj. With a slow shutter, I kept the fluidity of the movement in the garment.

It took 20,000 workmen twenty years to complete the complex. Lifting heavy marble slabs to the height of 80 metres required a 4 kilometres ramp, a device similar to that used to build the Egyptian Pyramids.

Le genre de cliché que j'aime prendre; isoler un détail de son contexte .
quand il s'agit de saris et de grâce féminine, on a l'embarras du choix; je ne montre pas tjs ça n'est pas forcément apprécié.

Tu m'as devancé ! J'avais en effet l'idée de poster une photo avec pour titre le nom d'un bâtiment japonais connu sans que celui-ci apparaisse sur la photo. Je vais attendre un peu.
La vitesse d'obturation est une idée, même si j'avoue que j'aurais aimé apprécié contemplé la finesse et la beauté de l'étoffe.
A part cette réserve, je trouve le reste somptueux dans la composition. Le dallage, l'arrière-plan marbré, ce beau vert et ce bras pendant négligemment. Tout en suggestion.

J'aime toutes les images du Taj ou on ne le voit pas (c'est peut-etre pervert de ma part...) Cell-ci entre donc dans le compte. Joli passage du sari, bien capture. J'y trouve une certaine poesie...

it makes me think of me when I was at the Taj, more amazed by the beauty of the saris than by the monument itself. I like your framing and the soft colors, the movement of the sari.

I love this image, Andre. Most people try to fit the whole Taj Mahal into the viewfinder, but you've given us an alternative perspective. With just a few elements (the rich silk sari, the pattern of tiles) you've managed to evoke the spirit of India here. Great shot!

Je ne suis pas très active sur TE depuis un petit bout, mais je regarde les photos presque tous les jours. Ça fait un certain temps que je vois tes photos et j'ai beaucoup d'admiration pour ce que tu fais. Sur celle-ci, ce qui m'a attiré tout particulièrement c'est le bras et surtout cette main détendue et qui semble être le point fixe de ta photo. Un bras délicat de femme... avec ce sari à la couleur magnifique. C'est simple, mais ça marche (sans ou avec jeu de mots!). Superbe!

Images tès originale du Taj mahal... difficile de faire quelque chose qui n'ait pas été pris par les milliards de visiteurs qui s'y sont déjà présses et l'équivalent de photos vues au travers des medias.

Toujours la couleur verte et le grâce féminine, deux sujets auxquels je suis sensible. Le fantôme de la princesse peut être?

Juste une critique sur le niveau de lumière dans cetet image : peut être un coup de courbe supplémentaire pour remettre un chouia de contraste et de luminosité...

Salut André, j'étais parti pour commenter "the place where i live" mais au final celle ci est apparue dans les random de ta page d'intro ... et elle m'accroche carrément !!
Une superbe DOF, avec en plus un peu de blur pour donner un peu de motion et de dynamisme, simple et élégante, c'est une photo très racée là.
Je suis très fan
