Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken from the top of the Tokyo Tower just after the sun went down. What a spectacular view of the biggest city in the world. I recommend going up at dusk so you can see all the lights of the city.
I didn't have a tripod, and with the low light the fastest shutter speed I could use was 1/2 a second. I had to hold my camera down tightly against one of those big metal viewers (binos)that you have to pay to look through. This was one of the only photos I took that wasn't blurry and didn't have any glare from the glass windows.
Pentax SLR camera.
Film scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED.
Levels adjusted in Photoshop CS2.

Hi Ryan,
I was there some days ago and agree with you the view from there is stunning, good you got there just at dusk to deliver a nice photo with some lights already on, looks very clean despite shooting throught the window.
Have a nice day,

Impressive. Extremely impressive.
If not a little unrealistic. I believe you worked this image out quite a bit in Photoshop.
It really doesn't matter, because the results are stunning.

Hi ryan
he he, this one remember something.
I like it very much for vivid compo, and full of spot lights. not necessary to convert in "b&w" and use some pp.
good contrats btw curves and towers.
congrats

Hi Ryan,
What a cool and lovely shot.
I've been to the tower but in the night and had a horrible view. None of my shots was clear specially with the glare from the glass windows.
Nice work. Great color, great view.
Cheers

Hi Ryan,
Beautiful shot, this is famous view point from the Main observatory at 145m of the Tokyo Tower, which has two observatories.
The shutter speed of 1/2 is a limit in handheld, it's so for me, too. You have captured very clearly without any glare from the glass windows.
Have a nice day, Hisashi
