Photographer’s Note
The Monastery of Deyrulumur (Mor Gabriel) lies 22 kms to Midyat. The construction of the monastery started in Late Roman times in 397 A.D. The monastery was looted by the Mongolian horde in 1400s and re-built at that time. This monastery belongs to Suryani's, or Assyrian Church and is still being used for religious purposes. The Suryani's speak a dialect of Aramaeic. The bible originally was written in Aramaeic also. This bible in the church dates from 1700s.
An archaeological site named Hasankeyf very close to Midyat is in danger of destruction. Please support the signature campaign against this happening

Kitabın kapağındaki ayrıntıları çok güzel yansıtmışsınız. Belki biraz daha önden bir çekim daha iyi olabilirdi.
