Photographer’s Note
Communications towering above the world.
These communication masts are sited on the side of Mount Ruapehu.
As can be seen the sun is directly behind the left hand mast making for a strong silhouette. In the background hiding in the mist are the Kiamanawa Ranges.
Cheers
Paul.

Very daring, my friend. Composing an image with two poles against a deep blue sky with a bed of clouds below... and all this in bak light... you are a photographer to keep the eyes on. Well done.

Hi Paul,
This is an stunning image. It has an incredible 'atmospohere' about it. The composition follows the 'rule of thirds' (although I'm not sure that it's strictly necessary) and positioning the sun behind the transmission mast, with only a small portion of it shining through, has worked brilliantly! Your vantage point above the clouds is stunning and love the way they 'carpet' the image but leave a perfectly clear view to the Kaimanawas. The other point I wanted to make was about the contrasts. You have several things happening in that respect. The masts' silhouette against the clouds and the sky, the white of the clouds against the landscape and the sky, the various textures....
This really is excellent work, Paul. Keep it up, my friend.
Best wishes,
Tony

Hi Paul,
I like these silhouettes of human inventions in a wild place. It's beautiful and despairing at the same time. Excellent position of the sun.

Great Idea, this Picture has grown on me and I have only just got around to Commenting on it.
I like the sharpness and the sun reflection.
The mist adds a bit of mystique too.

I like the low clouds and, obviously, the position of the sun with its rays... There is a spectacular atmosphere here, congratulations!

C'est excellent, Paul, ce contre-jour avec le soleil en partie caché. Les couleurs son superbes et les nuages en position basse ajoute un intérét supplémentaire au cliché.
