Photographer’s Note
This location is just a small area within a larger feature. While the outside wasn’t any more spectacular than anything else in the park (ok, that still means that it was pretty incredible anyway), this area within the formation was like a little world of its own.
The sun was incredibly bright and almost directly above us at the time so it wasn’t exactly the most ideal conditions for photography. The sand in the original image appeared to be almost white but, by making adjustments (some of them fairly bold) to that area alone, which included brightness, contrast, saturation, and channel mixer, I was able to gain some detail. The rest of the landscape was adjusted for brightness, contrast, and saturation but to a much lesser degree. The sky wasn’t unaltered.
Kind regards,
Tony
