Photographer’s Note
An hour or so after my previous post, we came finally to Albergue Los Cuernos, our resting point before reaching our final destination that day, Campamento Italiano.
The Albergue is located in between a locked valley, near the shores of milky Lago Nordenskjold (which you can see in this picture). Even though this picture was taken AFTER the following addressed events, I felt this will be a good post to share our experience at that noon time:
We came tired and while my friend, Barak, sat on the little bench with our gear, me and his GF, Maya, got into the Albergue to purchase some bread and cookies (very precious at this places, you know). Returning to Barak's company, suddenly we realized that Maya lost Barak's camera. It was no where to be seen (and mind that it is not a big place to loose a consumer digi). Retracing our actions, we quickly realized that someone snatched the camera while me and Maya were in the Albergue and Barak too tired to notice a slick thief. We had one suspect in mind (a local trekker), and after a close look Barak found him chilling out on the beach with his friend. We were almost certain he was the villain, but damn, it was his word against ours - we didn't actually saw him take the camera (and aside from the 400 USD worth of camera were also the priceless 200 photos of a week of traveling...a heart breaking situation!). We actually did talk to him, innocently asking him if he took the camera, and he innocently replying he didn't, and with that it was hard to press any further. At the end, we posted a message at the Albergue, not before poor Maya cried out loud right there, in front of many passing trekkers, and also, in front of the alleged thief. I was so amazed he was so indifferent to her sorrow (I dare say that most people were filled with sympathy for her loss), I actually started to think that maybe he was innocent.
SO, I was again surprised when a moment after we left the camp, I heard cries of joy, and guess what, that guy "all of a sudden" found the camera hidden in his laundry clothes (COMMON, who do you think you talking with?!). Smiling, we took the camera (with the photos, of course) and gladly moved on with our trek, singing in our hearts - A bad experience with a good ending...

Hello Chen,
This is a great place for people who like trekking! The colour balance is perfect and the scene is truly well composed. A reference picture for me (as many others in your gallery)
Thanks for sharing

Hi Chen,
Great composition with all these colours.
I find that some detail lost in the image - not sure is it if the contrast or maybe the scanning you use.
Keep on posting pictures from these amazing places

Hi Chen,
A beauty, I like here this nice perspectice getting thinner to close on the left side and the fine colors, especially the water, it does not look so much south, rather already evocates south seas father west, just lacks the palm trees and coral reefs... A beautiful nature picture.
Have a nice sunday,

sharp waters, nice gradation in the sky, great depth on the right, but stragely enuf ..i would have adored it greater, had you been closer to the waters and gravel. Moreover, i would have preferred you more close to the big stone visible in the middle, so as to have a least closeup possible of the people on the left, cause in this pic, their presence is just a little less than not being there at all. Yet a great pic still. it would take me quite sometime to reach this level.
Respects
..
