Coming in out of the sun Photo

Photographer’s Note

I have always liked when the sun went behind a cloud and cast those beautiful rays in a fan below it. And they are of course a challenge to any photographer. And when you get a Fokker from Luxair bursting through the clouds as it comes in to land at Findel Airport, then you get the camera out in a hurry. One would think the plane was the cause of those rays.
I have only cropped the original slightly.

The very same day I was shooting the sitting duck, I found this willow tree waiting for spring on my way home.

Technique – Aperture priority on f/13 and shutter on automatic. Then a little usm, saturation +5, cropping and upload.

The light is nice but it's plane that realy makes the image. The roofs and stuff at the bottom is not so nice though, I would crop and clone it away.

Dear Per, when I saw this thumbnail I thought "Ok, another sun shot" then after opening I saw this very nice detail the plane. The roofs add to the composition. The beams of light are great, nice picture :)

Very nice shot. The plane does it of course, no doubt about that. Personnally I would have cropped off the roofs. But again, that is a matter of taste.

Very nice photo indeed - I remember seeing some of the same elements on a painting in church ;-) (OK the plain was a pigeon) You surely were on the right spot at the right time - very good work Per.

Excellent shot, Per. The beams of light coming out of the clouds looks wonderful. The plane is a definite plus, and I like how you just included a tiny amount of silhouettes at the bottom. Very nice work.

Great capture Per! The plane is a precious detail to give us the mood you tryed to create and to fill the image. But even without it, the sunlight coming out from the clouds really look great :)

another nice capture Per. the lil' plane looks so tiny in the mighty expanse of the sky.. lovely rays too.. i like the slight human touch in the form of the roofs
