I´m like a bird Photo

Photographer’s Note

There´s a song from Nelly Furtado that says something like this:

"I'm like a bird, I only fly away
I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is"

Well, watching a few guys doing this past saturday, at a beautiful beach near Nazaré, i had a great "freedom sensation" on watching them standing in the skies, with an amazing amount of clouds and sea surronding them...like the song tells, this must be like being a bird, who only flyes away, without knowing where my home is or even my soul. And i was only there, seing those guys flying around and have those sensations...i wonder how it should be if i had some of those "wings" and could free myself from the prisoning land...

Great framing from the sky, that the parachutist is not sharp is only a detail. The atmosphere of the compositition, and your note makes it complete. Very well done Marco.

The angle of view made me think you were up there with the pilot. Great clouds, but some sharpening of the paraglider would help.

On a more sober note one of our local pilots fell into the sea in the Canary Islands a couple of days ago. There is such joy in flying, but danger, too.

One really gets the feeling that you were right behind him - on your own paraglide. And I suppose that in your mind you were. You certainly convey the feeling well. Lovely clouds also. The kind you normally see from planes - from above.

Marco, your image is great, and the prespective does fool people into beleiving you were up above the clouds. I did a WS on this image and by correcting the curves, unsharp masking it and increasing the saturation I obtained a much more vivid image that has a realistic feel to it.

Présentation bien faite avec ce sujet qui se positionne sur une place maîtresse d l'image.
La silhouette est bien représentée malgré ce léger bruit mais qui ne gâche pas la composition.

Mmmm, i love that song, and, as a matter of fact that was the song i came to think of when seing the picture - before reading your note and the title. So, i must say that you have chosen the perfect tilte. Good to see you back Marco. I like the strong siluette very much and the amount of clouds really gives a sensation of freedom. Good choise, great composition.

What an amazing shot!! I have an freedom sensation too. The silhourette is well captured and the pattern of the clouds is awesome. I like this shot. I would like the clouds to stand out and the wires of the parachut sharper, so I did a WS, hope you don't mind!

Your photo is great and brings back good memory. I used to do parasailing when I was a student. The composition is very nice: it seemed as if the glider was about to land onto a soft feather bed...

Etiez vous en hélicoptère pour photographier cette scène ? J'en ai l'impression. La composition est parfaite avec le sujet mis bien en évidence en silhouette, Bon travail.
Je constate que la cellule de votre caméra a été influencée par la luminosité du ciel ; c'est normal; il fallait légèrement surexposer par rapport à la mesure indiquée.
J'ai donc effectué un WS.

Eram em helicóptero para fotografar esta cena? Tenho a impressão. A composição é perfeita com o assunto destacado bem em silhueta, Bom trabalho. Constato que a célula da vossa câmara foi influenciada pela luminosidade do céu; é normal; era necessário ligeiramente surexposer em relação medida à indicada.
