The Arch of Constantine is a triumphal arch in Rome, situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill. Erected in honor of Emperor Constantine in 315 AD, after battle to defeat Maxentius at the Milvian Bridge in 312 AD.

The arch is the largest of only three such arches to survive in Rome today. The two others are the Arch of Titus and the Arch of Septimius Severus, both in the nearby Forum Romanum.

The Arch of Constantine is a three-way arch, measuring 21m in height, 25.7m in width and 7.4m in depth. The central archway is 11.5m high and 6.5m wide, while the lateral archways are 7.4m×3.4m

The Colosseum can be seen on the left.

This is a Scanned copy & hence there are some shortfalls in the quality of the picture. I have posted a WS of this image but with the colours as appearing in the printed photograph.

Hello Angshu
Being a scanned picture, the result is not perfect but not so bad. I like the colour of the sky and the composition.
Regards
Antonio

Glad that you have visited Rome Angshu, nice composition in this image and pretty good scan, perhaps with some noise reducer it would be better, compliments and TFS.
Ciao
Vinicio

Hi Ang
Another one of the most photographed icon in the world.
Well, from the scanned image, it do still gives the impact of such spectacular view of the arch in the evening. Except that the street lamps was unable to provide the star sparkling effect.
Cheers and cool shot, Ang.
And hop to see more from your acrhive.

Hi Angshu,
I wonder about a b/w convertion in here. Now a days, several trekers are using that for scanned pictures with not so good quality, taking advantage of the noise, to give an appearance of old photo. I'm not a fan of the b/w at all, but in some of those experiences I think the result worked pretty well.
This night shot has a good perspective over the square and the well known monuments. I like the lighting and even the pattern of the noise in the sky and you made a good pp work. Thanks for showing the original in WS.
Friendly regards,
Ricardo

Hi Angshuman.

It's a pity that the picture is scanned. A really pity.

Anyway, I like it.

Rgs, Oscar

Despite the lack of quality from the scan you have chosen a good POV for this photo. More than the arch I like the light on the small arches of the Colosseum.

Hello Angshu,
despite the quality of this scanned (scanning is a nightmare for me,too)image, I like the compo and your PoV. Thank you and best wishes!
Attila

Hello Angshu,
Actually I like both of them.THe grains are a negligible part as the pic shows places of high importance and in a good POV.
The flare on the top right looks like light from a bright star and the addition of the colloseum is excellent.
Beautiful work - Vikram

Hi Angshuman,
Certainly the photo is scanned and it does not have the quality that you would obtain at the moment with a digital camera. But it has a good POV and a really good frame. Altering the contrast you have obtained better colors than in the original one, and the result is correct.
Regards, my friend,
Josep

Hello Angshuman
Despite not good quality I like the composition and great idea.
Regards

very nice picture, but whats with the fuzzy sky, apart from that it is a very nice shot

Hi Angshu,
The scanned has added some noise to this image but is has also added more mood to it. This image has got strong impact with it's low light ambience. TFS!
Regards, Jino

angshu,
scanning effects teh quality of the photo but not the mood. good pov and it seems that in the original you have quite a bit of details visible.

Hi Angshu,
Beautiful night shot, with nice exposure control, despite some visible noises, but still a good result for an scanned night picture.
Take care
Ricardo

Bonjour Angshuman
Perfect balance of masses with the inclusion of Colliseum at left.
Your point of view is quite informant.
Thanks.
Robert

Hi Angshuman,

A good POV of the Arch of Constantine taken at night. The photo has a good composition. Thanks for sharing.

Pierre

Hi friend
I know well this famous arc. The problem that has the photo is scanned. But the composition is good. Greetings Sergio

A nice night view, probably handicapped by the scanning process. The compostion of the Colosseum on the left and the lighted Arch is a very good idea.

All the best,

Emmanuel

A beautiful nocturnal composition that I found in your "randoms", there is a lot of atmosphere in this shot and I really feel myself in Rome here...

(NB : this is also to tell you that I am unable to send you right now a larger version of the little packs on top of the head of my shoe mender, as I am travelling ; but I'll do it before the end of this month, promised !)

Best regards and bravo,
Cath.
