Photographer’s Note
This was taken at the Nagoya Aquarium. They have a great dolphin show and tanks large enough for 5 or 6 dolphins to swim. At this time only 4 were swimming in a group. Is that a pod?

I love the composition with the people as silhouettes, and the dolphins in the lovely blue water. I also like how some of the light from the pool is highlighting the people's clothes and faces. I don't like how the top of the water is blown out though. I think I would have cropped that part off.

hi jason
i like this shot. it's great to see the dolphins and i really like the silhouettes.
post processing is a useful part of photography. you could straighten the shot a little, increase the contrast, enhancing the silhouettes, and make the blue a little more intense.
i'm at work now, but i might submit a quick workshop from home tonight.
btw, dolphins can be in a herd, school or pod. :)
good shot!

Welcome to Japan. I am soon going to make the hour long trip into Nagoya to check out that aquarium.
Great capture. Swimming animals of any sort are a tricky shot (I find anyways) to capture so kudos to you. I am happy to view your exposure setting and so forth as I have tinkered in the past with such compositions.
Thanks for sharing. Brendon

What a lovely shot! A wonderful way to juxtapose humans and dolhins, clearly and simply. The tones are wonderful although the black is a bit missing.
A wonderful image inviting us to reflect upon our humanity and relationship with the sea and natura in general. Brilliant!
TFS!
Julia
