Photographer’s Note

This is an image of the two front towers from the Palma de Majorca Cathedral.
The day was very bad…it has rain almost all day and there were much clouds in the sky, so the clouds are real I only made some corrections on light/contrast and on Shadow/highlight to create amore dramatic version.
And of course the tilt towers are intentional ;-)
Now about the monument :
Palma de Majorca Cathedral, was built on top of the ancient city walls of the historic quarter of the Mediterranean island's capital, and is essentially Gothic in design, although there are other artistic influences.
This building, which was begun under the reign of Jaime II, consists of a single plan with three naves. Trinidad (Trinity) chapel lies in the main nave, in which the bodies of James II and James III lie. The most notable elements of the façade are the Mayor doorway and the South doorway (Mirador), that is distinctive because of the sculptures by Guillermo Sagrera that lie around it. The beauty of the Mirador doorway is spectacular due to its decoration with geometric and vegetable motifs, while the Mayor doorway is set upon four majestic columns. The Cathedral of Palma de Majorca has a total of 9 bells in the tower. The bell called 'N'Eloi' stands out because its size. It measures 2 metres in diameter and weighs 4,517 kilos.

Normalmente não aprecio muito estas perspectivas "radicais", mas reconheço que neste caso, com essas torres e esse céu, até resultou bem.

Excelente Teresa!
Esta "anormal" está muito boa. Adoro a composição inclinada desta dupla gótica (de longe o melhor estilo) e o céu está fantástico. O contraste resultante está perfeito e os detalhes nas torres muito bons. Gosto muito!

Olá Teresa,
Un punto de vista muy arriesgado y excelentemente resuelto. Las dos torres de la Catedral en esta diagonal apuntando al cielo, sin más elementos que nos distraigan la atención, han quedado fantásticas. El cielo, aunque hayas tenido que corregir algo, ha quedado muy bonito también, y esas nubes tienen una textura que dramatiza la imagen.
Ésta es otra demostración de tu buen ojo fotográfico, has visto esta escena, y has tomado la foto. Así de sencillo. Y eso normalmente es difícil de conseguir.
Bien iluminada, y con colores perfectos.

Son naturales esas nubes? El trabajo de PP es impresionante. El POV bajo y la inclinacion de la composicion, le añaden mucho drama a esta vista de las torres goticas. Muy bien captado.

I like the angular perspective..magnifies the majesty of the cathedral. I'm not too sure about the clouds, but the BG does accentuate the beauty of the architecture here

A great photo.
I love the effect of the sky as it sets a dramatic background to equally as dramatic towers with their shape and tilt.
The colour and light is excellent and the pov works well.

Glas to see your interesting post again.
A very brilliant angle of capturing the tips of the Cathedral and putting the sky with patches of clouds as a backdrop.
Yeah, we knew the tilt is intentionly.
But you have done a cool job of rendering this back-lighted image with good exposure where the Cathedral captures enough lights to make it remarkable outstanding.

Gosto da forma como 'deitaste' as torres para as apresentares de uma forma original. Gosto tambem da saturação das cores e do trabalho realizado com o céu dando um optimo contraste à foto.
