I think that a note, explaining to people that these men are taking part in a Shiite religious ritual expressing grief, would greatly help put this into context for non-Shia viewers.

I must agree with Ian: a photojournalist shot like this should be accompanied by an explicative note, imho. I like the fact that you where right in the middle of the action with a wide-angle approach, instead of hiding behind a long telephoto lens. That putted the viewer closer to the scene… not a very comfortable place to be, I must add. Good work!

Not an easy pic to look at, especially that close, but it's a great photojournalistic image. I like how you took it from waist level it seems looking up.

hi muhammad
its quite exciting seeing a photograph by a pakistani. i missed out on muhharam this time as i was stuck in traffic . even i wanted to go and document it, however in black and white. it is something i really want to document it.
im doing a workshop on this . its my first and hopefully my only workshop. i dont like giving workshops as i believe in not interferring with an artists's creation. i hope you dont mind it
