Photographer’s Note

Like portraits, sunsets are a big favourite of mine, be it from my office window or the forests of Kaziranga. This was taken from a open top jungle safari vehicle inside the tropical marshlands of Kaziranga. We were at the fag end of the safari having spotted about half a dozen one horned rhinocores, deers, wild boars and some other wildlife. Ours was the last vehicle on the way out when our car broke down. In a forest known for its herd of wild elephants, spending the night in the open was the last thought on our mind. But as the sun started dipping on the horizon a beautiful scene unfolded before us and all worries were forgotten for the moment. Thankfully we were rescued in about half an hour as forests guards came looking for us.
