Photographer’s Note
As I've been posting quite a few images depicting movement in the past few days, I thought I'd end (for now) with this one.
I took it on the London Underground a couple of months ago. I was trying to get just one passenger on the platform while a train was passing; it was a bit hit or miss as it was quite busy. Eventually a train came in and this girl got off and walked off down the platform as the train pulled away.
I can't remember exactly what shutter speed I used, but it must have been about 1/10th second.

Hi Ben,
Very dynamic shot. Only the floor is sharp, i think it's a very good idea, very well accomplished. The glance is attracted towards the left as by a vacuum cleaner. I love it :)

Hi Ben,
Lovely capture. The compo is excellent with person leaving frame. Both passanger + train well blurred. And you've got good steady hands producing near-perfect sharpness everywhere else. Good job!

Dear one subject should be sharp that depicts the fast motion but experimented by giving motion to both good seem s to be modern art.

Hi Ben
It doesn´t matter the speed you used, what really counts is that the effect achieved, visually is very attractive.
We don´t have much visual information, but that´s not necessary.
Good shot
Have a nice weekend

Another great shot - I like the sense of movement in both the train and the girl.

Ben: blurred to perfection here - going both ways - a genuinely effective transit shot. Couldn't ask for more dynamism or vertigo on this one. regards, c

Hi Ben,
I really like your recent series of photos on the New York subway - the grittiness and grunginess of the scenes really appeals to me. However, whilst browsing through your archives, I came across this London underground image posted nearly a year ago. The strong diagonals of the composition are terrific and the blur of the train is just right. The girl is nicely positioned infront of the passing door, giving her a bit of a red glow and her clothing colours complement the train colours. Overall, lots of little elements, but key ones that work well together and when all put together procuce a visually strong image. Great photo, Ben - well done!
