Photographer’s Note
This is yet another Manila Bay sunset. Sunset may be cliche, but there is something about viewing and taking pictures of sunset. It invigorates me.
What's fascinating about sunset is how dramatic the colors change as the sun goes down the horizon. On this particular day, I took several shots beginning at 6 pm when the colors were simply yellowish/orange(ish). But as the sun settled nearer the horizon, the sun appeared pinkish. After the sun disappeared, an explosion of other colors followed.
PP: Noise reduced, contrast (+4), saturation (+3), USM. and resized for posting.

Wonderful colors and POV Danilo. Is the colors original or was filter used nevertheless the overall effect looks incredible. Luis

Good morning, Danilo, Well, you are right about sunsets generally being cliche (I am guilty of a few myself), but this one is slightly unusual. The deep sky makes the sun look heavy, and its low position on the horizon adds to the sense of weight. It appears to be glowing without radiating any light of its own and seems more like a disinterested entity observing the boats. The reflected striations of subdued purple on the water are beautiful.

Hello Danilo,
I agree on the colours in Manila Bay, and what more... You're always sure to find some big ships to play a role in your composition!
Well composed image here, and the way light is reflected from the water adds to the beauty...
The not so pleasant fact is probably a good part of the beauty is due to air pollution...
Greetings,

Simplicity is beauty ... perfectly composed! I'm not sure if the smog plays an important role for Manila's spectacular sunsets ... but it is beautiful. I didn't know about this kaleidoscope of sunset colors ... I'll keep note of this next time I'm there. TFS and regards ... Renier

Beautiful image! Love the colors. Only thing I might suggest is to fix the slight tilt of the horizon.. Sunsets are great!

I don't know how I pass this one.
it's so beautiful.
The pink tones of the sun are so incridible.
The light is perfect too.

Howdy Danilo,
I like this shot, so I have added to my Waxing and Waning Theme! I love the compo, with the ships' silhouettes.
Good notes,my friend. For instance about what we are looking at, other than the sunset, about the changing colours. Salamat, TFS! So long, Jay
PS This shot would also do well on TrekNature!

Bonjour Danilo
I was in Philippines in 81/82 and spent a month in Manilla, six months in Boracay and I remember the beautiful sunsets...
Here, You've captured well the pink color which is reflecting well in the sea with the silhouetted boats giving a nice contrast.
Cheers

Hello Danilo,
Apart from the very unusual sun there seem to be little else happening in the photo. I don't say this in an insulting way; just I think you should help to emphasize the ships and the sun as the main elements by creating a tighter crop to the scene. I really do enjoy the very strange colour, I have not seen it like this before. The colour hues in the water are stunning also.
