tight framing. The colour blue is fantastic.
We have places where you can pick your flowers from a sort of box on the side of the road and throw some money in, but I never heard of field where you can actualy cut them.

I've seen lots of photos of sunflowers and blue sky, and they can get a little boring. Yours on the other hand is fantastic. Never mind the technical excellence of the shot (nice and sharp, great colours etc), what makes this stand head and shoulders above the rest is your unusual and imaginative composition.

Great natural composition. This is not a typical flower photo. It got something special. The colors contrast is outstanding as well as the sharpness. But what really makes the difference is the way you framed the Sunflower. It's spectacular....

The idea i have seen before, but also this one is very nice. That deep blue stands in perfect contrast to the yellow. Detail is high on the sunflower with good saturation.

What a different shot and such a good idea above all. It never crosses my mind, these things. Super nice, wonderful the yellow against the dark blue sky. Same in Switzerland, the Blumen selber schneiden thing ... you can also by organic veggies/fruit like this. Super idea.

The polarised sky makes a stunning background for the "rising sun", and the detail you captured in the sunflower is amazing.
We have "pick your own" places for summer fruits but I can't recall seeing one for flowers.

Hi Andreas,

WHAT A DEEP BLUE SKY!!!!!!!! Wow, and nothing would look more beautiful on it than the rich yellow SUNFLOWER. So well cropped.

In the countryside of Denmark it is normal to see a small table with potatoes, peas, strawberry, eggs etc and a box with money. I guess most people are honest enough - otherwise this kind of business wouldn't exist anymore, would it :O)

Nein. Diese Plätze wo man selber Blumen pflücken darf, die gibt es nicht in Spanien. Aber ich kenne sie aus der Schweiz. Dort habe ich nicht nur Blumen gekauft sondern auch Honig und Kürbisse.
Über das Foto, wie viele schon geschrieben haben, gefallen mir die schöne Farben und der origenelle PoV.
Es ist wahr dass dieses Foto würde besser in TrekLens angehören, aber bei etwas so schönes darf man Nachsicht haben.

I just came back from Europe, and I saw these "cut your own flowers" place between Basel, and Colmar (CH and Frnce).
In Argentina you cannot trust in people! Most probably that people would take the flowers without paying for it. We are not well educated :D
So, anyway, love sunflowers. Beautiful composition.

Sunflowers are among my favourite flowers. They are one symbol of life and happiness, as far as I am concerned.
I like your composition, so simple and so efficient. The harmony between blue and yellow is divine.
I don't know if such a place exists in Belgium (if so, I would like to know where). I understand your note, this photo belongs to TE (and not only to TN or TL) - I had the same wondering about raspberries a few posts ago.
It will soon reach 300 points, waow :-)))
