Photographer’s Note

I paid a quick visit to Lockwood Beck Trout Fishery on route to Whitby to take a few picture of the harbour and was surprised at its beauty on a summer’s day, when I asked what was the purpose of this strange looking boat I was informed that it was to enable people who are restricted to wheel chairs to be able to enjoy a days fishing due to the front of the boat lowering much like a car ferry hence the name “wheely boat MK II”, I thought what a great idea. Top marks to Lockwood Beck Trout Fishery for providing such a service, hope you like it Irene.

I like lake photos.It is very important the blue of the water,it make a great contrast.

The colours drew me to this shot from the thumbnail. The wonderful blue of the sky has reflected perfectly in the "lake" and the contrast with the greens is beautiful. I agree with you well done Lockwood Beck, and well done you.

The horizon looks pretty good here , colorful and level .
it's nice to know that the handicapped can enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Just one note , if you used a fill in flash the shadows would be gone around the boat . Jim

What a beautiful composition. The picture from the thumnail attracted me & when I opened the photo, it appears even more beautiful. I like how the sky reflects on the ripply waters of the lake with the boat in the FG. the wonderful green trees on the otherside provides wonderful contrasts. Well done Irene

Good thing this came up on random. Never noticed it before. I like your colors and pov with an interesting sky and a bit of shade in the foreground for a good range of light conditions to keep it interesting.

Hi, Irene.

Another lovely picture - tremendous colours and a beautiful sky. Your note is excellent - yes, it really is great that the fishery provides such a service to disabled people so that they might enjoy a day's fishing.

The image of the Wheelyboat does, however, have a slightly spooky look to it as it's not a new invention - it's very reminiscent of a D-Day landing-craft! A machine of war wonderfully re-invented for the good and pleasure of mankind!
