Photographer’s Note
Segovia is the capital of the province of Segovia in Castilla y Leon (just an hour north of Madrid).
It contains a wealth of monuments, including the cathedral, a famous ancient Roman aqueduct, the Alcázar, and various churches built in the Romanesque style. The old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Aqueduct of Segovia is one of the most significant and best-preserved monuments left by the Romans on the Iberian Peninsula. It is among the most important symbols of Segovia. The date of construction cannot be definitively determined, probably, between the second half of the 1st Century AD and the early years of the 2nd Century (about 2000 years old).
It has 167 arches, and 20.400 granite blocks are not united by mortar or concrete.

Hi Alana,
A very nice perspective of this aquaduct, the depht of field is superb. What I notice in your gallery, almost all your pictures are
processed or workshopped with the HDRI software or tone mapping,am I right ?And I think´it´s fair enough to mentioned it on your coments. And if
I am wrong,I apologize about this coment.

Great composition - very sharp, and a clever presentation by tilting it
The border to the print is not really my cup of tea, but I admit this is just a matter of personal taste.
An amazing tonal range. Well done!

Hi Alana,
wonderful shot, just like you use to do. I like the textures in the stones but also this extraordinary perspective and under the arches is well visible also the old town. Just wanderful, ... but how you did it, were you on another stairs or... were you flying? Just joking, because you've choosen really wonderful point of view for presenting this beautiful antique building.
Have a nice WE,
Tomi

Hi Alana!
Good idea to rotate to get as much as possible of the aqueduct in your frame. You recieved a nice perspective and depth, especially with the stairs in the background.I like the red/brown colors and the view through the arches is nice too.
Have a nice weekend,

Alana this is quite the dramatic perspective here at the Aqueduct of Segovia. When I read that these blocks were assembled without mortar I was amazed. One can only conclude that it still stands today because of precision craftsmanship. I looked up this place on the internet but your photo looks alot better with this viewpoint. Also what interests me is your post processing which reveals a sephia tone touch. Nice results from careful work. Compliments on your gallery too. You have some very nice photos posted from all over the globe. Keep up the good work!

Hello again, Alana. This summer I was also here in Segovia and took some photos. In my live I have seen hundreds of pictures of this aqueduct but very few as good as this one. Altough I know that you do not need wings to have this PoV, it is a very good one. I like even more the details we can see in your picture: the holes and moss on the stones, the houses in the background, the clouds...
Your PP is brilliant, the picture is sharp and colors though being not those I remember are very nice.
I would just clone out the crane that you can see through the first arch. The tilt is a bit irreverent with this honourable ancient monument but will not pull it down. These stones that are balancing without mortar will remain up all the more since we consider that this aqueduct was still in use about 50 years ago.
