| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
This is a rugged place on the Devon/Cornwall North border. It was originally formed as glaciers from the Devonian period met those of the Anglian period, and the rocks in the background were pushed on their sides as well as being compressed, hence the striations.
I took this on a horrible day in late April, in between rain showers, in high winds. I just managed to rest against the wall you can see.
I'm really new to photography altogether, so any comments welcome. |

Hi Pauline,
Good seascape, but I think the weather got the better of the quality of your image! I tried a Workshop to see if I could improve it by straightening the horizon and lightening the scene. Hope it worked! Nice try though, the composition is good. Best wishes, Vicky
Hi Pauline
A good shot! As you observe in your note, looks bleak - which adds a certain irony to the picnic tables.
The colours here are quite subdued, which adds to the mood.
If you don't already have it, go to www.photofiltre.com ... it's free photo editing software for PC and it can do quite a number of useful functions for editing, including that essential horizon tilt!
Thanks for sharing

Hi Pauline!
I like the dramatic atmosphere of this shot, but first of all I like it because of its original point of view... Very often in panoramic places photographers (including me!!) avoid walls, terraces or picnic tables... You managed very well the composition, and here the wall and tables become an essential part of your photo!
Best regards
Federico
I like it especially workshop version. However I have to admit that workshop and original versions are passing different mood each..
Hi Pauline,
Composition and dramatic colors are very very good, well done.
