Fireworks over Niagara Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is my first attempt to capture the fireworks over the Niagara Falls. Maybe this place looks a little bit busy, but it’s quite unique at the same time. Right in the middle, you can see the Rainbow arch Bridge linking the United States and Canada, built in 1941. It connects the Cities of Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Ontario, spanning the Niagara River. On the right side, there is the American Falls, and the smaller, adjacent Bridal Veil Falls, illuminated by red and blue xenon lights from the Canadian side…

Instead of using a tripod, I had to use a fence – until the beginning of September everyone can enjoy fireworks every weekend and this place is extremely overcrowded.

ISO 200, 2 sec. exposure time, 22:06.

What an explosion of colours Alana!! I do enjoy the colorful sky, beautiful reflections just like the keen observer on the left side of your frame.

Very good firework shot, made more impressive with the lights on the falls and the buildings. I like the inclusion of the spectator on the left with the light just catching the sides of her(?) face.

Hi Alana,
You sure know how to frame your photos. Once again I am impressed by your work. Including that personnage on the left was a great idea and you obtained a kind of outline light around his face that is quite a nice effect.
I like also the moving clouds of smoke.
To be absolutely honest, there is one little thing that disturbs me : the dark and orange thing at the bottom center of the image. Everything is within the depth of field, from the man to the fireworks, except that weird part. Wondering what that was.

I like the fireworks you've captured very much. I appreciate the effect because I recently tried to capture such a scene with less luck, so I know that it's pretty hard to capture. Nice that even the waterfalls have some specials colours here.
To be fully honest with you I would cut out the left part of the picture - the person and the bright and disturbing light would be gone.

You have posted a lot of interesting pictures during the last couple of months. I like this photo. Great colors and sharpeness, excellent expsure time. I like the observer on the left, he (she) ads some interesting sharm for this composition. Very good shot, Bravo!
