boat at Leonsberg Photo

Photographer’s Note

It was an early morning and boat driver was leaving for next customers where they were waiting for him at New Amsterdam. Suriname River’s great muddy color, shining morning sun, really different sky here in Suriname gave this gold color. I photographed the scene at Leonsberg's small catwalk.

Leonsberg : Located at northern part of Paramaribo. Closer to the Atlantic Ocean and at the beginning of beautiful Suriname River’s big mouth.

Leonsberg is a Dutch name. “Berg” means “hill” in English. It means the part of this area is “Leon’s Hill” May be there was a lot of “Dutch Leon” who were protecting the Paramaribo (capital city of Suriname) during colonization period ;)

A very pleasing sunrise photo in Leonsberg. Although the boat may be the focal point, I admire this photo more for its warm glow and colors. Best wishes.

J'aime bien la silhouette du bateau.
Personnellement j'enlèverais un peu de ciel pour décentrer la ligne d'horizon.

This is one of the great shot representing "message of peace" I have seen on this site. Good POV and good idea to cover some part of illuminated water at right side.

Güneş ışınlarının su üzerinde oluşturduğu yansımalar, renkler, parıltılar ne kadar güzel... Ortadaki sülüetlerin siyahlığı ve göğün o muhteşem rengi...
Bu arada üstadım Surinam Hollanda sömürgesiydi değil mi? Hollanda da oynayan Surinamlılar vardı sanıyorum. Bu arada sen bize biraz iyi futbolcu bul:)... Transfer mevsimi bitmeden.
