After taking yesterday's picture, a friend and I arrived at La Paz. There we spent the entire day, and in the late afternoon, in the 12th floor of the 'Illimani' building (in front of the US Emabassy to Bolivia ——if someone knows the city can pinpoint this location), I saw this sight of the Illimani at 1809 hours. The sun illuminated its peak with this orange tinge, which I manage to capture a little bit underexposed.

The place where I took this photo could be some 40km away of the mountain, in accordance to a Bolivian-made mape of Bolivia.

Cropped, increased saturation 4%, gaussian blur to the sky, unsharp masking to the rest, adjusted levels and curves a bit.

Very nice captures you made - I like the special orange colour - you capture a nice moody evening in this photo - I like this and your morning picture as well - good work Jürgen.

What a view! All i can say is how envious i am of those who see this every day. Lovely light. Thanks for jogging my memory.

Quite typical of the Illimani in low evening sunlight. This is the direction from which I'm used to seeing it, looking down the Juan de la Riva. The US Consulate is in the next street, on the corner of Colón and Potosí. I think you should crop some from the bottom, as the large dark area does not add anything to the picture.

Stunning colors Jurgen! The soft light really works with that snowy mountain. Wonderful landscape!

Between the dark blue sky and the rocks below, the colored snow stands out.

wonderful tones on this Jurgen. I was there in the summer and saw full moonrise over Illimani - something that only happens 4 times a year.
