Photographer’s Note
Mongolia, one of the great pristine and most remote areas on this planet. Mongolia is internationally highly praised for its relatively untouched biological diversity. Therefore to maintain the health of Mongolia's natural ecosystems and populations of wild species has been recognized as important in both national and global level. Man, you nailed the focus on a difficult shot like this. No idea how, luck or great skill, but the focus is superb. Not only that you composed in a thoughful way where you had no time to think. Thats instinct, it comes with practice and youve got it.

Hi Ben,
A very impressive picture of a bird in flight. It's very common to see birds from below - understandably - but in this case you have it not only whizzing by, but with its wings low and with a clear view of it's head. Add to that the fact that the bird is in focus, and the background landscape is blurry but interesting, and the result is an outstanding nature shot. Truly exceptional. The note is also informative, and reflective of the need to preserve the world's remaining natural hotspots - something I feel deeply about. I'm putting this one where it deserves to be.

Benjamin, you've certainly visited some interesting countries. This is a very dramatic shot, with amazing clarity on the bird, which you must have shot with a panning camera motion. Really well done, given the speed with which you must have manipulated the camera and focused the long zoom lens.

Andrew

Again, Great Capture, & excellent FOCUS. I know its very difficult to catch such a photo especially flying birds, I wish the bird was spreading his wings instead of folding it, its just couple of seconds but I think it would’ve gone if u waited. Really like ur work. TFS

Definately one of the best bird shots I have seen. Just a tad more room above the bird and that would have been so superb I would have been speachless (well typeless I suppose)An extremely good image and worthy of a prize.
