Photographer’s Note
I guess the first thing on your mind now is: "Couldn't he move just a bit to the right so the trees weren't in the picture?"
The answer is: I really could not. I was standing among the trees on the edge of a steep hill (those who know this place would agree) and was able to move just a bit left (even more trees) and backwards.
And finally: I did this shot (without a tripod) on Sept 11th, 2003, at about 7 AM. The picture shows Vranov nad Dyji Castle. It is situated about 20 km to the west from Znojmo (South Moravia, http://www.znojemsko.info/), very close to Austrian border. I think the castle looks very good in the morning fog with low "morning light".

Well done, it's never easy to shoot the exact picture that you have in your mind!

Great shot of a wonderful scene Jan, excellent work. I felt very tempted to try and remove the obstacle, see what you think. :)

An almost perfect combination of soft warm light falling on the castle, and the gentle fog wrapping the base and the rest of the valley.
Fair enough that you couldn't move to the right, but, it can be trimmed at the bottom as the trees are bright enough to draw the eye, and to shift the balance away from the soft colours in teh rest of the shot.

Hi Jan,
Your picture is pretty, maybe try to move the camera little higher instead of right.
The castle in fog is great. I saw the workshop and think that without those branches it is not that nice.
Leda byste mel vyklopny displej.
Ale v te mlze je to nadherne. Skoro bych rekl, ze bez tech vetvi je to chude.

Splendind shot, Jan! I don't mind the trees at all - as a matter of fact they add a nice contrast to the fog. Beautiful capture and you deserve extra points for getting up so early :-)

Great picture. Don't mind the bushes in the foreground, they add contrast to the picture. The ws is interesting but makes the castle more imaginary, out of this world.

Great, clear picture with that mist!!! Would indeed have been better without the tree, but as you say, sometimes it is not possible. Good composition.

I like the trees as it gives a nice composition for the foreground. You have captured a lovely misty shot with all those nice pale blues. Like the light shining on the castle. Well done.

Splendid. The trees are a bit in the way, but then, perfect is often dull. I like the shot as it s, especially (no surprise) the fog/sky pair: the Castle is not yet in Heaven, but neither it is on the ground anymore :)

I like the trees in teh foreground. They give depth. Beautifully done. The mist is very atmospheric, gives the image a dreamy quality. Captured in good lighting. Bravo!

Nice picture. In my opinion, the trees in the foreground are not a problem!! I like your composition with the castle in the middle of the mist. Light and brithness are great. That a good shot. Well done Jan!
Best regards,
Marc

Jinak zdravim z Hradce do Hradce :-)
