Photographer’s Note

This was taken at the start of our boat trip on the Ganges at dawn, as it is still fairly dark. It is great to get different shots with the changing light as the trip progresses. For a lot of people in Varanasi these boat trips are what they do everyday, and you will be asked several times a day to go on one, but I think that the best time is at dawn.

Interesting background but I think the flash and over exposure of the boat is too distracting. Also the composition is a little awkward with half his arm cut off.
