Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken at the VT Airshow last month at the Vermont Air National Guard base in So. Burlington, Vermont. I was walking by this plane when I noticed this kid looking into the cockpit through the canopy of this plane. I quickly swung out my camera and captured this candid shot before he turned around and stepped off the platform.

It was raining a lot and therefore he was holding an umbrella. This is a trainer jet aircraft used to train pilots before they start to fly F-16s.

Such a powerful contrast here - the plane and natural interest of the boy would have been good enough bnut to get this toy umbrella in the image too is really special - all that hardware in front of him and the innocence of childhood behind.

Nicely seen.
