Photographer’s Note

Storm, sun and clouds on Suriname River’s muddy water. Suriname is under tropical weather zone as a part of Amazon Rain forest. No winter, no autumn even no spring. Only "summer". We have also four season but little different;

Long rainy season
Little rainy season
Much rainy season
Short rainy season

That’s why you can see a powerful rain then shining sun after few ten minutes or some times few hours later. Some times you can see “all together”

My first thought was for shooting clouds and sun together in this scene. This is the reason why I used vertical shooting mode.

Hi Ertugrul,
What a mighty climate you have... In such moody and even fierce conditions, people are bound to stay silent and wait for it to fall a bit less harsh...
It's really a good management of light, as far as I can figure, having never dealt with such weather! In the mountain we have storms, but that kind wouldn't allow any shot. This is awesome.

We have 4 seasons and I like it. sometimes are cold , sometimes are hot but that is good.

Hi Ertugrul,

Impressive resistances, the force of the sky is fantastic, the clouds create an interesting duel against the sea, you treated the frontal light well, is difficult, but I believe that the horizontal format had been better, anyway a good work.

this wonderful sky of great visual impact, with enormous clouds, it creates a fantastic composition with a great resistance with waters of the river of dark and brown color.
The silhouette of the border in backlighting divides with much elegance both elements.

I'm very fond of the use of the overexposed sun at the top of the photo. It adds a wonderful dynamic element to the picture. The contrast between the brown water and the blue sky is fantastic.

A really beautifull sky in your picture : the play of light and shadows on the clouds is wonderfull. But as far as the water is concerned, I will prefer my blue Atlantic Ocean of last summer rather than your brown Suriname river.

Very good exposure control for such difficult light condition - sun in the frame.
I like the contrast in the clouds from almost white to almost black.
Maybe there is too much water included in the frame, I would have cropped about half of it.
