Photographer’s Note

A presumeably homeless trishaw driver and a young lady seem to pause and reflect on the days events.

This spot is where hoards of tourists hop off luxurious tour buses by day to take caravans around the city in these peddled vehicles before returning to their hotels in the late afternoon.

Many visitors purchase the rides as part of a package deal, with the drivers receiving a small amount from the tour operators.

A large number of the drivers can be seen around Penang at all hours......laundry hanging from their cabs........snoozing etc. Afterall, these cabs are, for some of them, their homes.

Impresssive work with the exposure here - the high ISO and slow shutter speed has almost turned night into day.
I would go as far as to say that it's too bright - in addition to the noisy image, it would be more mysterious and atmospheric with some suggestion of darkness.
I think it's fair to conclude from the woman's clothing, location, and demanour that she, like the cab driver, may be waiting for a customer. :)

2 am... Eveb with 1600 ISO it is very strnage to get such a bright picture a t that time. That said, i like it a lot! Every single thing in this picture seem to reflect on the day evnts as you say. the bikes, the trichshaw, the people... it is time to sleep but due to the abormal light for that time of the day they can't so they mumble... great shot!

So much detail even with such a focal length & Aperure value?! The details & the colours on the girl are contrasting against very dusky BG & is enjoyable.

J’aime beaucoup cette scène, la lumière est très belle et toute particulière. En fait, cette ambiance me fait penser à un décor de théâtre. Bravo !
