Photographer’s Note

Territory of modern Kaluga region that's borders lay 100 kilometers West of Moscow was inhabited last 10 thousands years. First it was tribes of Ugra and Balts, later Slavonic tribe Viatichi. In XI century main cities of the land was built: Kozelsk, Tarusa and some others.
City Kaluga first mentioned in letter of Lithuanian Prince Olgerd to Patriarch of Konstantinopol in 1371.
It was a border fortress of Moscow Princedom with Lithuania and Mongols. In XX century Kaluga was one of the first centers of cosmic industry and research.
Lot of nice buildings in the city, that one is built in "provincial" Stalin's style, somewhere in 1940-s - begin of 1950-s, I think.
