The girl in the pink dress
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| Taken in Xiangyang Park in the centre of Shanghai. There were two men writing separately on the paving stones with brushes in what I think was just water. I have no idea what they were writing, but there were about a dozen people watching and reading around each including this young girl. |

Hey very interesting cropping. I like the mystery surrounding this picture...
This is splendid Chris - well worth opening up as all the subtleties of your DOF play become obvious and delight the viewer. Excellent cropping of your main subject here giving here even more power.
Top notch street work,
Francis
For a very long time I don't come to TE, there are some nice shots, this one called my attention, you did a good corpping and framing with the girl on the right, adding some colour, and of course the caligraphy adds a regional taste to the photo
You have a keen eye Chris, and your play with focus is good too. I like how the main subject the girl in the pink dress is really the focus here. It could have been tempting to go for the caligraphy. If I could nitpick, I would have brought the cmaera down just a fraction and included her shoes and cropped her and the mans hair. Nice street work
Ciao Chris, this picture is splendid. I agree with Savask that the mistery picture is intriguing but what a pity that you could not know what the guy is writing on the street... How if the guy was writing poetries? I tried to ask to a chinese friend of mine and let you know, if you want...

I just talked to my colleagues. Indeed the guy is writing some poetry. However, the purpose of his writing is to show his caligraphic skills. Writing such beautiful ideograms is an art!!
