Photographer’s Note

A man praying at the tomb of Muhammad Ahmad Ibn Abd Allah also known as Mahdi.
Mahdi was a head of upraisal against British rule in Sudan. His troops entered Khartoum in 1885 and took control of most of Sudan. The British stroke back 4 year later and regained the power in Sudan. The building is only replica what it used to be real tomb, and although inside there are no remains of Mahdi (scattered to the Nile by Brits), Sudanese still come to this place praying to him considering him as a prophet and liberator.
