Photographer’s Note
Lund's main railway station (Lund C) is usually a very busy place, with thousands of travellers and commuters arriving and departing throughout the day.
The railway is one of the most operated in Sweden and passenger traffic is supplied by five different types:
1. Regional commuter traffic (Pågatåg), for mainly southwestern Scania.
2. Interregional commuter traffic (Kustpilen), from Malmö/Copenhagen to southeastern Sweden - along the coast.
3. National traffic (InterCity and X2000), from Malmö/Copenhagen to Stockholm.
4. International and interegional commuter traffic (Öresundståg), joint Swedish/Danish, mainly on both sides of the Øresund - sometimes extended to Gothenburg or Kalmar.
5. International traffic (Linx), joint Swedish/Norwegian, from Copenhagen via Gothenburg to Oslo.
In addition there's also cargo traffic run by Green Cargo.
The railway Malmö - Lund was the first State Railway in Sweden, opening in 1856 - the station itself was the third - and at it's height Lund was served by seven different railways. Today only two remain as there's a junction just north of the station, where traffic for western Sweden leaves the main railway.
The image shows the regional commuter (pågatåg) - in characteristic lilac and gray colors with red stripe - leaving the station for Helsingborg at 8:06 pm and the platform is unusually empty.

I tried this myself at our station and failed completely. But you made a good job of it with the well placed bench to contrast to the moving train. The reflection in the train windows is a nice detail.

The matching bench and stripes on the train are great, and the litter around the bench gives a humble and stationary contrast to the moving train.

Really nice shot Kaj. I like how that a variation of the same pattern is in both train and bench, contrasted by the movement of the train - very well composed. It's great that got the reflection of a "Lund C"-sign in the picture as well.

Very nice shot! I like very much all those different horizontal lines made by the platform, the line on the platform, the bench, the "silver" of train, the red line on the train, the yellow light in the train and the roof of the train.
There just that small thing on the top that, I think you could crop.
Anyway it is an amazing shot, Kaj!

I love all the horizontal lines in your photo Kaj. Also the contrast in the bolts on the bench, creating lines in a vertical direction. You have captured not only the movement of the train, but also static bench. Well done!

That is a wonderful shot kaj, great horizontal lines, well composed and framed. To bad for the paper on the ground but still is a great shot, good work.

Perfect graphism with all these horizontal lines.
The red line is also ideally placed in the composition.
The movement of the railway is well captures.
And finally the note is very interesting.
So a very nice and useful post, thank you Kaj !

Really nice pic, i love the opposition between the train's movement and the other part which absolutly don't move. Really graphic and esthetic, congratulations !!!

Very nicely composed, Kaj. The bench and the train are great contrasts. Clarity and solidity vs. blur and fluidity. And I also like that it's not so clear a contrast. The bench and the train's lines match in an interesting way and although very clear is soft and sort of creates an illusion. And then finally the platform itself is nicely separated from the train. So it looks like a slow change from movement to stationary. You also give us great reflections in the train's windows. That's another part of a ghostly illusion, I think. This is really great, Kaj. It really brings me nicely into feeling the movement of the train. Great job!

Very good work on this one, Kaj ! You played nicely with parallel lines. The bench was the perfect subject to contrast with the train. Well, well seen.

Great shot, Kaj. Excellent geometry you get from the horizontal lines of the moving train, and the lonely bench is very well placed in your frame. Nice how the reflections on the outside of the train are so clear. Very good entry into the hunt, well done.

Great picture!
I may have cropped just above the trein roof to separate the picture in two halves: the mobile and the immobile ones. But further is it just wonderfully composed and executed!
Ah! Yes, you're definetely a great Hunter! :o)

Superb photo! It looks like the train is going so fast! You did really well to cature this as I imagine that there are lots of things to ruin a shot in a train station i.e. people walking about sitting on the bench etc.
Very well done, your in depth explination is good too!

Beautifull oicture !! In such a kind of picture I would usually wait untill there is a person sitting on the bench, or something like that. In your picture, it's really not neccessary. It's very good as it is: opposition between movement and immobility. Nice colours also!

Kaj~
Congrats on an amazing photo! The quality is excellent, I love how the bench is so clear and solid, while the train in the background is one big wonderful blur. It really gives you the feeling of the speed and urgency of the train. Bravo!
