Photographer’s Note
I was doubting weither I should upload this one or not, but let's give it a try..untill I found something else to share with you guys (and girls!)
I've allready prepared this one yesterday, but right now I looked at the original again and also made a close-up crop, I will provide that in the WS.
The reason I wanted to share this one, is that I've found something weird on this scene. There is some building on that rock down there! I don't know what it is, it has no roof, so it's not a house, maybe a start of a temple, or castle.. Or some lookout post, but who wants to look to what from there? And when was it made?
I can't find it on the internet, maybe it's a too small detail in a large environment.
Take a close look on it on the WS, hope you can see enough detail.
Shot taken closeby, Assos, Kefalonia. From approx. the same POV as here but then looking to a different direction, and pointing the camera down more.
Hope you like it

Nice photo, really good pov, i think I know what that could be ... a destroyed lighthouse.
I think this because, i mean thats the only thing which makes sense; lighthouses are built on rocks, so actually an explanation is that there was a lighthouse, but then it was destroyed for whatever reason ... dont know
quiet interesting ... :)
anyway, nice photo with a nice thing on it :D

good pov also i believe this curiosity will make you want to go there again next summer i know this feeling.. My guess is it was a small house however storms.. earthquakes and sea water ruined it

Hey Emiel,
I would agee with Eugen, perhaps remains of a lighthouse or a watchtower. It would be too small for a fortress or someones secret getaway ghetto! Quite a mystery huh...
Great shot btw!

Emeil,
I agree with eugen as to what it is ...
I like a closer crop with less land and more of the sea .. although your really close one is loosing detail on the rocks ..
wonderful water .. great POV .. strange object ..

Good high point of view in order to show us this wonderful sea colours. The hues of blue are fantastic and stand out well against the dried coastline. Good lines formed by the seashore.
Well done. Thanks for sharing

Hi Emiel,
for your intentions (what you want to show us) the WS is perhaps more useful ... but you didn´t take the photo for that reason (because you found out later that there is a "building"
Concerning the building´s shape, I would say it´s a stadium - but the ancient Greeks weren´t stupid at all, so why would the build a stadium on a rock in the sea??
So, it could be a lighthouse, yes. It could also be a prison (like Alcatraz ...). (Although I think they didn´t put criminals in prison but killed them ...)
Anyway, the clearity of your photo is amazing. Even in the original photo, the building is clearly visible.

Hi Emiel!
Oh yes, the WS is more appealing to me. Still, the photo is missing a clearer subject a bit, IMHO.

Hi Emiel,
Although I've been in Assos a hundred times (because my family comes from Kefalonia) I haven't noticed this! It seems very big to be a lighthouse and certainly it's not a stadium :). I'm very curious so I'm going to ask some people who live there and I hope I'll get back to you with an answer!

Dag, Emiel. Zeer mooi licht.
