I'd heard someone explaining me that with low aperture values you could get shots were even some elements of a face can be in focus, while others are out-of-focus (slightly).

This shot is a great example, and it is used very well, by centering the focused eye in the picture and letting the rest 'slowly' fade away out of focus... congratulations, this was a lesson for me.

Tina: it would be hard to resist this charming picture. Though you could have increased the DOF slightly to keep both eyes sharp, the composition here is spot and your model couldn't be more beautiful. best, c

A beautiful portrait Tina, and your framing is very effective here.
I like how you placed the flower in the corner of the frame, and it works well with the tilt of the head.
Another good point is how you focused on the nearest eye, the other being just out of the zone of sharp focus. It's very effective; if the nearest eye had been out of focus it wouldn't have worked.
I love playing round with shallow depth of field, and the effects you can achieve with a fast prime lens just can't be replicated in any other way.
An outstanding, and sensitive portrait. Well done.
