Photographer’s Note

Standing on the top of a mountain, a small hill to anyone who has seen a real mountain, but a mountain non the less. We had fallowed a marked trail to a place where a tornado had touched down and ripped up all the trees. Only to find that the forest had grown in and the trail was not marked at the top.

Remembering my wilderness training (from Saturday morning cartoons) We decided to fallow what looked like the beginnings of a creek. Knowing that where there is water you will find people. What started out as a trickle at the top of the "mountain" turned into this. 3 hours of walking in cold, wet weather lead us to the main trail. The sight of trail markings is never so beautiful. Memories of being lost keep reminding me in my adventures to pay attention to all that is around me.

It is funny to think that this park is less than 4 hours from my home in Canada. I have traveled the world but ignored those beautiful places near me. After seeing the world will it be more beautiful?

I also learned on this trip to bring more memory for my camera, 8MB just isn't enough for a weekend.
