Photographer’s Note
This is my second post of Évoramonte. Situated between Évora and Estremoz, this is surely a village full of history. This is one of the few streets situated inside the walls, the old village. Maybe its preservation should be more careful (we can see these TV antennas and also the other one that exists in the castle of my previous post) but there are so many things to be found here and there aren’t usually many tourists. It’s really worth to go around and find out the small details, visit the castle and of course enjoy the wonderful scenery around because the village is situated on the top of a hill and from here the landscape seems endless. This old door on the left is one of my favourite there, that’s why I took this perspective of the street. I even caught Santa Claus because I’ve taken it before Christmas.
The day was sunny in spite of the very dark clouds in the sky.

Hi Ana,
Lovely street is really eye catching and remind me same colors from some other Mediterranean scenes. White façade, old type roof tiles and wonderful cloudy sky with some black stains are wonderful with beautiful street floor. Congratulations.
Friendly Regards,

Ola Ana,
Alentejo at its best, the true charm of Portugal is imho hidden in these small villages far away from the beaches, lovely street details with excellent light revealing brilliant whites and providing dramatism against the background menacing clouds, it's a punchy picture where I also like the funny detail of the climbing Santa ;-)
Have a nice day,

Hello Ana,
Overlooking your gallery ( the last page ) i see beautiful bleu and white colours ( typical for your home country ).
But this one has something more : in the white wall one can see beautiful texture due to the skimming light. And that makes this picture so much more interesting.

I have never been to Portugal :-( but from what I've seen these whitewashed buildings seem typical in the smaller towns and villages. Good contrast between the whitewash and the dark sky. You have great detail and sharpness, couple that with a fine pov and it adds up to a superb image, well done.
Abraço

I like these buildings and your POV is very fine. I guess everyone needs to watch Tv these days. what can one do. I find power lines spoil my pics or lights or something there is always something in the times we live.
In a way these things help for they place the building and the picture in a time frame.
