Photographer’s Note
One of many typically beautiful facades in Paris. This one is located on Boulevard Saint Michel near the Jardin du Luxembourg. Taken today with a nice ray of sun!

Hello Leonie,

Hi LEonie, i like a lot your compo and the repetition of the windows...
the line of the perspective is not perfect on the left side...Anyway a very good capture!

Great capture of this facades, indeed very typical for Paris. I like a lot the repetition of all the windows and the addition of the branches on both sides was very nice too. Good work!

Hi leonie.
A very interresting shot.
An interresting for the subject: very typical of parisians buildings.
Interesting technically because with all the lines it shows uses the quality of your lens.
As you see, your lens is quite soft on the corners and there are some signs of distortion.. A very interessting to test would have to made same picture at different focals...
PS: Sorry to have made technicals comments.
Regards.

Hi Leonie. I'm afraid that I'm going to burst your buble as regards this image. First I invite you to read my updated info profile which explains why I'm doing this. Also be assured that I am not picking apart your image but rather the unthinking comments made on it which, if you were to believe them would lead you to take unworthy pictures for the rest of your life. Some things are subjective, but it is fair to say that straight on pictures of buildings rarely work. This shot of a series of windows sometimes can. The comments which say it is sharp are wrong, it is clearly not. Likewise, the comments which say the colours are good. Check the histogram and you will find (if your eyes don't tell you) that the image is very flat - lacking in contrast. Adjusting levels is enough to deepen contrast and bring colour into the image. Finally a sharpen. There is one comment (from Yves), which at least points out the pincushion distortion of your lens. This may not be so evident at all zoom lengths and apertures so his suggestion for a series of test images is a good one. I hope I've not upset you, rather, I hope my comments will help you to improve.
